Lessons Learned from COVID-19: a PREZODE workshop at the World Health Summit

Last October, PREZODE attended the World Health Summit in Berlin. During the session, high level speakers discussed the lessons Learned from the COVID-19 pandemic as well as the need to highlight Zoonotic Disease Prevention through the One Health Approach. They highlighted the need of a coordination tool for efficient collaboration involving all actors to implement sustainable prevention actions.

Alternet conference

“Transformative Changes for Biodiversity and Health”: Under this title, Alternet Europe, the network bringing together leading research institutes from 21 European countries, held a conference on June 14-17, 2022, in Ghent (Belgium). It gathered around 150 participants from various backgrounds – scientists, experts, NGOs, and policy specialists- to discuss nature-based solutions.

THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF PREZODE SHOWS A PROMISING INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION

PREZODE held its first General Assembly on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. The event was an opportunity to present the results of the consultations undertaken over the past eighteen months and to take stock of the actions undertaken and establish the roadmap for the next steps. 14 signatory countries already adhere to the initiative. Guinea Conakry, Madagascar, and Morocco just joined Belgium, Cambodia, Costa Rica, Dominica, France, Haiti, Mexico, Senegal, Uruguay, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe. To date, the PREZODE community encompass more than 160 members from scientific, academic and associative backgrounds.

IAEA and PREZODE Pave the Way for Future Cooperation to Prevent Zoonotic Diseases

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) and the PREZODE (Preventing Zoonotic Disease Emergence) initiative, launched by the President of France Emmanuel Macron earlier this year, agreed today to build further collaborations to prevent the risk of zoonotic diseases emerging.

PREZODE Members Meeting on April 21, 2022

On April 21, PREZODE Initiative organized its first meetings with its partners. Almost 200 participants attended the event, organized in two sessions. The Interim Secretariat highlighted the initiative’s developments: first achievements, strategic agenda and governance, participative tools. Many Partners and Representatives of International Organizations -OIE, FAO, WHO- share their testimonies and support.

Mexico: First country to join PREZODE initiative

Friday 18 June: Mexico and Paris have signed an agreement of cooperation to prevent pandemics emergencies by joining the PREZODE initiative launched by Emmanuel Macron, in January 2021 during the One Planet Summit. Mexico is then the first country to join this International Initiative.
