Who we are

Who we are

The PREZODE Initiative is a community of countries, research organizations, non-governmental organizations, or other initiatives across the world.

The community of members works together to the development of the PREZODE initiative, through joint research programmes or operational activities in order to foster the building of synergies.

Members and collaborators of PREZODE endorse its core values, as stated in the declaration of intent. Therefore, they dedicate their mission to its global aim: Preventing zoonotic disease emergence in complex socio-ecosystems, through international collaboration, knowledge sharing and guidance for public policies.

Since its inception, PREZODE has succeeded in establishing a global multi-actor dynamic.

The PREZODE Initiative forms a network to facilitate and strengthen interactions across member organizations, including existing and future initiatives, projects, and programs. As of April 30, 2024, the PREZODE community encompasses more than 240 members from scientific, academic, and associative backgrounds, including the governments of 26 countries.

The countries involved are Belgium, Burkina Faso, Cambodia, Cameroon, Costa Rica, Chile, Cuba, Democratic Republic of Congo, Dominica, Gabon, France, Guinea Conakry, Congo, Haiti, Laos, Madagascar, Mexico, Morocco, Panama, Senegal, Thailand, Vietnam, United Kingdom, Uruguay, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Two Regional territories, Anguilla (United Kingdom), and St Eustatius (The Netherlands) also joined the initiative in 2022.
