Christophe Cordevant is a member of the Strategies and Programmes Department of the ANSES  (French Agency for Food, Environmental, and Occupational Health & Safety) Directorate General, which oversees the activities of the agency's 9 laboratories. He acts as Senior Scientific Advisor for Food Safety and Emerging Infectious Diseases since 2014. 

He has 20 years of experience in molecular microbiology and typing in the field of foodborne zoonoses both at the Institut Pasteur Lille and within the Food Science division at Bio-Rad. In his current position, he is among other things involved in the management of inter-agency scientific partnerships (ISS Roma, Singapore Food Agency...) and acts as the lead of ANSES experts involved in the preparation of the One Health EU Zoonoses report - EFSA/ECDC. He is currently a member of the Scientific Steering Board of the OH EJP (43 partners, food, veterinary, and medical across Europe), the Governing Board of the MedVetNet association, the CoVetLab research committee and the scientific board of the ITMO I3M (Immunology, Inflammation, Infectiology, and Microbiology). He is also involved in institutional initiatives at national and international levels, like the board of partners Inserm-ANRS | Emerging Infectious Diseases (ANRS MIE), SCAR Food Systems, and National Contact Point EU Sewage Sentinel System for SARS-CoV-2... 

Indeed Christophe has been involved both in the COVID-19 and Monkeypox health crisis by representing ANSES within the French EMERGEN consortium (Consortium for Surveillance and Research on EMERgent pathogen infections via microbial GENomics).
