PREZODE Webinar Series

Equity Issues in Zoonosis Prevention How to lift barriers to inclusivity?

PREZODE will host its third online Roundtable – Webinar on the 23rd of January 2025, 9:00 am CET (UTC + 1) under the title: “Equity issues in zoonosis prevention: How to lift barriers to inclusivity?”

Communities are at the core of the PREZODE approach to preventing the emergence of zoonotic disease emergence. Their involvement and engagement are necessary to establish sustainable Global Health strategies. The webinar will discuss on inclusiveness and equity:

  • How can we ensure equal involvement of all communities and local perspectives and address diversity fairly while fostering a shared understanding of equity, including the meaningful integration of civil society?
  • How can we ensure equity across different health domains? Finally, how can leveraging disaggregated data in zoonotic disease prevention and management help identify risks across various communities, genders, ages, and regions, enabling tailored actions to advance health equity?
  • How can we improve communication to strengthen collaboration and prevention efforts and enhance decision-making processes, acknowledging that excluding diverse perspectives can result in ineffective or unsuitable policies?
  • What steps can we take to bridge cultural gaps and promote inclusivity?
