Event organized by the PREZODE initiative (Preventing ZOonotic Disease Emergence) within the framework of the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union.

In January 2021, during the One Planet Summit, the President of France Emmanuel Macron launched the PREZODE initiative, with the ambition to foster multilateral collaboration with and between countries and other initiatives to prevent the emergence and spread of zoonotic diseases, while ensuring food security and fighting against poverty.

One year later, the ambitious initiative counts with more than 100 international partners, including eight countries, which signed the PREZODE Declaration of Intent and continues its development through its co-construction process which already involved more than 1,000 actors from around 120 countries.

> Read about PREZODE’s one-year achievement and activities to come.

This event is the opportunity to gather all our partners, experts, and collaborators from scientific and policymakers to

  • Introduce the main research and operational activities performed in the field of prevention of zoonotic diseases emergencies at European level.
  • Debate on the prevention and surveillance strategies in Europe and in the international context.

Highlight the recommendations resulting from the co-construction workshops held in 2021, in Europe and beyond.
