Joint opinion of the French Academy of Sciences, the French National Academy of Medicine, the Veterinary Academy of France, and the French National Academy of Pharmacy - Paris, June 9, 2021

This report emphasizes the animal origin of the most recent global pandemics, highlighting the urgent need for reconciliation of human and veterinary medical sectors, supported by the "One World, One Health" movement.

"While underlining the hope born of some initiatives, in particular PREZODE, announced at
the occasion of One Planet Summit on January 11 in Paris, the Academy of Sciences,
the National Academy of Medicine, the National Academy of Pharmacy, and the Veterinary Academy
of France wish, by this notice, to draw the attention of the authorities of our country, the media
and the general public, on the need to take the necessary measures to bring together
two professional streams in human health and animal health. These academies are held at
available to the authorities to study with them all the concrete improvements that could be
made in this area".
